ART ARTIST
ARTICLES EXHIBITION FEB/MAR 2026
The pages below are taken from the Catalogue for an Exhibition by Roger Peters titled ART ARTIST ARTICLES (1972-2024) held during February/March 2026 across the Percy Thomson Gallery and Stratford District Library linked to the Prospero Place Shakespeare Bust in Stratford, New Zealand.
The Exhibition features thirty-three items displayed adjacent to Press Clippings or Publications about his Art from 1972 to 2021 and his discovery in 1995 of William Shakespeare's Sonnet philosophy.
The works from the 1970s were created in Auckland, while the works from 1990 to 2021 were created in Taranaki. The years from the 1970s to the 1990s were spent researching the rationale connecting the mythic art of Marcel Duchamp, the language philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein and the evolutionary biology of Charles Darwin.
This led in 1995 to the first ever appreciation of William Shakespeare's consistent and comprehensive nature-based philosophy evident in his 1609 Sonnets as the philosophy behind all 36 plays in the 1623 Folio and the founding of the Quaternary Institute in 2000.
As Quaternary Imprint completed publishing nine books from 2005 to 2022 detailing every aspect of Shakespeare's overarching philosophy, Peters returned to exhibiting art in 2021with a show titled Songs of the Earth (1972 to 2021).
